Finn Cannon, Songwriter

I’m a young trans guy who values and appreciates art, especially music, very deeply – it is the foundation of my world. As a songwriter, sharing my journey through hardships related to my physical/mental health, self esteem, beliefs and identity is a lifelong task. I aspire to help, comfort and compassionately lift up my friends out there in the world (yeah, you) who go through similar hardships. Sometimes the most personal is the most universal. That is how we connect with one another – through art and stories.

I aspire to be one of the greats and improve the conditions of the world. I believe in diversity, unity, purpose, love and kindness – all powerful strengths in a seemingly divided society.

Laura Platt, Musician

I’m a pianist, composer, and music producer for video-game music, and a bi/pan trans woman! In addition to my semi-successful YouTube channel and Spotify where I arrange, perform, and produce video-game music arrangements (“Laura Platt” for both”), I’ve also worked with Gears For Breakfast as a music producer on their album “A Hat In Time: B-Sides” and as an orchestration assistant for their collaboration with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra in the “Gaming In Concert” concert series. My work was also featured briefly by Blizzard/PlayOverwatch in their animated short “Training Regimine”.

Circlejourney, Multi-Media Artist

Hi, I’m Circlejourney, a nonbinary artist who grew up in Singapore. I’m an art generalist, and I’ve taken on projects that run the gamut of illustration, concept art and graphic design, working with fellow creatives and storytellers to bring their visions to life. I especially enjoy illustrating music, and have collaborated with many musicians on track and album illustrations. My commissions open every other month, and I would love to work with you!

In my free time, I pour my creative energy into writing, music, art and code projects, and sometimes projects that combine all four. I love geography, flight, the sea, space, logical systems, and languages, and I think all my work reflects these interests. My current major project is Revolving Door, a multimedia web novel about hundreds of intertwining lives scattered across twelve universes, and a plot that connects them together.

I also make music, and web gizmos, such as this island generator, a web app for taking stylised pixelated selfies, and Angel, a mini room escape game.

Through my creative endeavors, I seek to explore themes of alternate histories and futures, isolation and connection, memory, forgetting, and meaning in an inherently meaningless universe. We each carry a universe in our minds, and to me, art is how we bridge the gaps between them.

Rose Avery, Musician

I’m Rose, a trans girl and musician producing ambient/IDM under the moniker The Sea Stared Back.

My latest EP “Liminal Space” consists of four tracks that came from a place of feeling trapped between the past and the future, and just trying to find a place of calm amongst fear and uncertainty. I also released a mini-album earlier this year called “Afterimage”

My goal is to have a full-length album out by the end of the year. I’d also like to start working in other genres of music, as well as writing fiction. You can follow me on Twitter (@rosie_egg) for updates on anything I’m doing, and find my music on Bandcamp and Soundcloud.

Morgueanne di Monica, Musician

Preferred pronouns: They/them/their

To listen to “The Dark Room,” their most popular album so far, click here.

My name is Morgueanne DiMonica and I’m a nonbinary musician.
I’ve been queer for as long as I can remember and I’ve been writing music for that long too. My musical genre is a cross between industrial and orchestral, but I’m comfortable with performing in nearly any genre.

I’ve been diagnosed with PTSD, MDD, ADHD, and bipolar.

When I was young, I went through a lot of social trauma, manipulation, bullying, and abuse. I had the experience of having everything I could have wanted, and losing it all before I even knew I had it. As I was growing up, my only solace was my MP3 player. When I listened to the musicians I loved, I didn’t feel alone. I felt like someone was there with me, sticking up for me through all the pain and neglect, and all I have ever wanted to do is pay that kind of connection forward.

I make music primarily for people who have unwillingly surrendered their identity to an onslaught of traumatic experiences, people who are lost, alone, and scared, and people who have lived through torment without understanding why they are still going. My biggest desire in life is to reach as many people as I can with my message: You are never alone in your suffering. Someone knows just what you’re going through, and they don’t want you to give up.

My second goal is to call people to action. I want people to hear what I have to say, look at the world, and decide that it needs to be changed through understanding and assertion. We deserve to live in a better world, and we can’t change it by being passive. I want to call everyone to stand up for what they believe in and defend what they love.

Thank you for your time and thank you for listening.
